Which 50% is what I want to know. Re: genes, he is probably referring to identical twin studies measuring influence of genetics vs environment. Of course, it's more than 50% b/c of epigenetic effects as well.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.
