Themes changed but the point remained the same. It's not about winning or loosing, just the way things are. I know many people from other countries who adopted fairly quickly to westernized lifestyle, while the actual westerners stood there and scratched theirs heads as to how they've done it, with so little. And it always comes back to better discipline and resource management skills (I.e. they don't waste their resources in the same ways that average westerners are used to). Ofcourse it deosn't apply 100% of the time.

Hm. Appears you deleted a post, Mishanya. Good call. I imagine you perceived it being case of the kettle and the pot. Some things are better left unsaid.

The only real needs for human survival are food, shelter and reproduction.

If you're talking quantity of human survival, then additional needs come into play.

If you're talking quality of human survival, yet other, additional needs come into play.

The "haves" and "have nots" of the world are equally responsible for the uneven distribution of these three modes of survival because both groups are equally covetous of what the other has. The "haves" want the raw materials the "have nots" possess; the "have nots" want the quality of life those resources engender in the hands of the "haves." Both groups are acutely aware that mass scale organization is the only factor which causes resources to be under-developed, in one case, and over-developed, in another. The tensions between and within each group revolve around acquiring, maintaining and bartering control of such organization.

If you like mythology, you might like The Golden Bough (full text, it appears) and The Masks of God.

This is a handy site. Scroll the page all the way down. Lots of goodies.

Tone, I would never hurt your feelings like that. You know it.

If I argue with you sometimes it doesn't mean that I don't care.

P.S. Don't be Jelouse, Junsui and I are just friends
