My g/f had the same problem when she worked non-profit.

The reality is, a lot of individuals that wouldn't cut it in the corporate world end up in non-profit, and they usually stay there to waste donated dollars.

Managers and supervisors need to earn their keep the same as any low level worker.

completely agree. i've only worked here for almost 3 years. i'm not going to knock non-profit. i really do enjoy what i do...i'm a rutgers alum, so it has some meaning to me. but the interoffice politics just kill me. i shouldn't have to copy 100K people onto one stupid e-mail...it complicates things, confuses people and only blows the issue out of proportion.

just the other day the VP of my department had asked a question, copying both myself and my supervisor on it. well, i'm pretty damn good at my job, so i had the answer in a flash. i replied to the e-mail (made sure to reply to all) and gave her her answer. a few minutes later, i get an e-mail from my supervisor saying that i should have e-mailed the answer to her first because "she doesn't want to worry the VP with anything if she doesn't have to". ummmm...i don't give a shit if she gets worried. if i'm asked a question, i answer it...it's very simple. i don't think the VP wants things being hidden from her. although, i can see where my supervisor has a small point because the VP is a control freak and has a habit of making simple things turn into nightmares...but still, the whole game playing through e-mail is just ridiculous. blah, rambling again haha. this has just been my experience with female managers unfortunately.
