I was married to a man of a different ethnicity. I can tell you, back in the old country, they drink even harder and bring it over here and pass it onto their kids. As for promiscuity, it's not out in the open, but I could tell you some scandalous stories. Scandalous even by our westernized standards.

Perhaps there are exceptional cases, but over all alcohol consumption in India (at least per capita) is a lot lower than in most western countries (Just look at the graph on the other page) I agree also that there are certain trends taking off in other countries which are inspired by our culture. For example Russia after the fall of Soviet Union 17 years ago started to westernize, it started introducing radical westernization and now it's turning into a cultural clone of the west. During Soviet Union times alcohol consumption was high, but there were no night clubs, promiscuity wasn't advertised as an ideal as it is today, people got married started families and generally found ways to solve problems like they are no longer capable of doing for some reason. Yeh there were exceptional cases as well, but not as many as there are today. Survival of marriages was high, divorce rate was low. Most people I know from back there say just the fact of social nonacceptance of divorce played a huge role in them working harder to work on their marriages. Fertility rate was a lot higher there than it is today (which is in the negative figure), some people have actually found a correlation of declining birth rate to arrival of westernization in Russia.

As for the white 'race' declining, who cares? Actually, most races/cultures are due to declining birth rates. Eventually we'll all be the same color.

Well, if you are looking at it from evolutionary, survival of the species perspective, then we as a group are not doing very well. The way it's going at the moment we are looking at numerical overwhelming and radical absorption into other cultures in the future. I just hope that we'll find ways to make adjustments to our culture to make it more "life friendly" before it's too late.
