Does LF ever have any real life events?

Florida is nice for people who can stand the humidity. I was also in AZ and love it there.

Im about an hour from Tampa. Sarasota is beautiful and we live right on the canal which is only a mile inland from the gulf. We HAD a boat!

Tide is high right now. We have manatees that come within 5 feet of our dock. I love it here. The old people are only bad in season.

OH I also met Sflaxi in NY a couple of years ago. so Ive met a few people from here.

Id like to get Hawaii sometime.

I've never been to Hawaii... But I like the closeness of Florida to the mainland, the fact that it's modern and just like the rest of the US but with a better climate and beaches. Hawaii seems too small

I prefer Florida's beaches to California's, but nothing beats Hawaii, in my experience. I've lived in all three places in addition to Mexico and the Caribbean. Hawaii is definitely worth the trip.

When I moved there, I showed up with a round-trip ticket for a three week stay. After two days I decided I wasn't leaving and sold my return.

haha... well to be honest, i won't be taking a vacation to anywhere for about the next few years... this japan trip will be my last due to my new job. for the likely part of it, i will only get a break during christmas time and one year away from my family will be more than enough.

I go to Sarasota quite a bit, since I have family that owns a condo there (like 5 minutes from Siesta Key). Yeah though, a lot of old people in Sarasota! There's a drugstore on literally every block

Florida beaches are better than California for swimming, but the (scenic) California coastline beats anywhere else in the country.

I like eating at Barnacle Bills, if you know where that is. Pretty good food.

i know of Barnicle Bills and havent been there. Theres a great seafood place here in Nokomis we go to. I work down by Phillipi Creek, and Im bumb from univeristy pkwy all the way down here to Venice.
