Only on Facebook Scrabble, where I believe they allow ebonics. I still strongly object! As far as I know, the original Scrabble game didn't allow abbreviations.

BTW - the Facebook Scrabble application isn't working for me this afternoon. Did you notice? I am about to make a final play in a game with my sister, and it won't accept a perfectly good word, one that even appears in the 2 letter word list.

Yeah, they did some updates and screwed things up. I kept getting a communication error last night.

    This thread is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

    Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
    (pronounced /ˌsuːpɚˌkælɪˌfrædʒəlˌɪstɪkˌɛkspiːˌælɪˈdoʊʃəs/)

The roots of the word have been defined as follows: super- "above", cali- "beauty", fragilistic- "delicate", expiali- "to atone", and docious- "educable", with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educability through delicate beauty." It should be noted that although the word contains recognizable English morphemes, it does not follow the rules of English morphology as a whole. The morpheme -istic is a suffix in English, whereas the morpheme ex- is typically a prefix; so following normal English morphological rules, it would represent two words: supercalifragilistic and expialidocious. As one word, it also violates the rule that the letter c cannot sound like a k when followed by an e, an i or a y. An acceptable alternative spelling is supercalifragilisticexpealidocious, replacing the "pi" with "pe."

As the largest known protein, titin also has the longest IUPAC name. The full chemical name, which starts Methionyl... and ends ...isoleucine, contains 189,819 letters and is sometimes stated to be the longest word in the English language, or any language.

Tempting to post the entire word here and see if it crashes. But there probably is a word limit to each post anyhow.Hmmm...Tempting.

Wow, you're not going to let that one go, are you.

It's actually in the Official Scrabble Dictionary. I know this because my fiance used it in a game and I called bs and said it was slang and he couldn't use it. He pulled out the dictionary and showed me. I've been sore about it for awhile.

Meh, I've used "at the end of the day".

I wouldn't say it's meaningless, it's like saying: "Sure, we could treat the Jews well, but at the end of the day, we're throwing them all in the ovens, anyway.

I also favor -shrug-, simply because there isn't an emoticon that shrugs, and if there is, at the end of the day, I still wouldn't use it.

"Meh" is my word of choice to convey casual disdain, irregardless if people like it or not.

    Ditto. Shrug, and meh.
