Well, that's just nonsense my friend. I'm seeing lots of couples, where the girl is really gorgeous and the guy is hard to even look at. I've been having confidence problems since my early teens, but I just sticked with who I was, I found people alike to me and got to this point. It's so much more than just looks. And for a year it's been better and better for me (in terms of confidence, cause I've experienced two of my first heartbreaks, which is harsh ). I've had some serious human contact problem, which verged on a paranoia. But I pulled myself together somehow, disregarded my anxiety and tried. And then again. And again. Until it actually became natural to me that I seek contact with other people and amongst my friends I'm viewed as cheerful, outgoing and gregarious. You're not born with this barrier in your mind, it takes time to develop it, and it also takes time and effort to tear it down. Best wishes.
