Regardless of whatever gibberish on here, this man made his mark. Indisputable.
Go on, do your thing, make your own 'mark' if you can and wait your turn. In the meantime, let others express respect.

I actually don't own many Apple products. I do have a Macbook Air, my first Mac computer ever. Aside from that, I have a Droid phone, and when I still bothered to carry an MP3 player it was some off brand.
However, I do know that my Droid would not be what it is today without Jobs. I'd probably have some kind of shitty Palm Pilot or a Blackberry. MP3 players would be rubbish, too, and possibly never have become mainstream without Steve Jobs.
I don't get why anyone who admires the likes of Turing would be against a man like Steve Jobs getting recognition. It seems like a step in the right direction to me. I was probably the first here to voice my disgust when everyone was whimpering about Michael Jackson's death. Steve Jobs wasn't some drugged up celebrity or athlete. He WAS a brilliant man, he was a tech geek, and he is worthy of a little admiration. Don't get me wrong. Apple's an evil corporation same as the next, but I think Jobs would say so himself, if not publicly. Doesn't change the fact that the man was damn awesome.
I'd love to see someone like Mandlebrot get this kind of recognition, sure, or any one of the numbers of amazing people we never really hear about, but dammit, Steve Jobs is pretty close to the mark.

Mr. Jobs was a very lucky individual who got the opportunity to be part of something this revolutionary. Just as Bill Gates is or the facebook kid.

Be a part? WIthout Steve Jobs and Bill Gates the personal computer as we know it may not ever have existed.
Some Russian would invent it then it would explode after 5 minutes . Later on we would find out that the construction was made out of poor materials and the PC itself wasn't working 100% correctly from the beginning because the inventor was pressured to invent the computer BEFORE Americans do. Better, faster, cheaper!!!
I wazzzz here
Yeah, obvious troll i may be, but im right about this pish.
The wonderful i phone is made by chinkeys who earn 100 dollars per month and have to live in the factory and pay half of their wages for rent.
Steve jobs was head of this company before he died.
Think about that next time you listen to some comercialised pop music pish on your i phone that you pay 50 dollars a month for.
He was part of the problem of the world, he wasnt a good or special man.
If he hadnt been born, the world would be no different or in fact it might have been a fairer and better place.
He was a glorified salesman and exploiter of poor people, not to mention exploiter of idiots who buy in to all this computer/phone pish.
im going back to my tiger thread, at least there was some sensible posters/trolls there.
Fck capitalism in all its forms.
viva la revolution.. its coming and people like the late mr jobs will be high on the list.
As a side note, its sad for his family and friends, anyone else who is crying about this is an arse bandit..
Turing, Gates, Jobs... ALL brilliant. Any one of them would make most people seem absolutely useless. Comparing them is like saying "I think Newton was more brilliant than Einstein" (actually, I think that's true), but the whole argument is a stupid one.
Tiger Woods is, like I said, an OCD guy who whacks small rocks into gopher holes. Noone will give a shit about him in a century, nor should they. Some of the slightly smarter people don't give a shit now.

If you want to critic tiger, please us the appropriate thread, but since you bring it up. Tigers millions comes from mostly rich white people, whereas the holy mr jobs millions comes from the sweat of impoverished chinkeys backs. Why arnt the phones/i pods made in the good old us of a? The idiocy of the americas never fails to astound me, and when thesse people die , you hold them up as champions of the people. As for who will be more famous in 100 years, just lol. mr jobs wont even be remembered in 100 weeks, but the tiger will live eternaly. He did more for black people in america than martin luther ever did.
Hmm. Isn't Nike one of TGs sponsors? Maybe you should look up where they make their products (children in Pakistan, I think?).
Don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with large corporations sending work overseas (so long as its done as part of CSR policy--many corporations do very good work). Just saying.

Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil
