I agree with you. I don't believe anyone should grow up expecting anything. You can have standards, sure. If someone doesn't meet them, then move on. I think it's silly that we enter into relationships with the preconceived notion that we can change a person to fit our own lives. We don't think this consciously, but it still happens. Two people can't be perfectly in sync throughout their entire lives.

It is an old standard that men are supposed to open doors for women. While I am not opposed to it, I don't get crazy if it doesn't happen either. I enjoy retaining my sense of independence. I don't find it insulting if a man doesn't do it. I would be pissed if he let the door swing in my face though.

Don't be ridiculous. Women give birth to male babies, for whom the majority would gladly kill or be killed for. Of course women think about consequences, and in fact tend to indulge in less risky behaviors in general. Besides, we have started a hell of a lot fewer wars than men have.

I don't care if you want to sit around and wait for women to hit on you, but don't think you are owed it because you can be drafted into service. Some women join voluntarily, and in other countries, they are drafted, too.
