Well, we all pay somehow (See the "Are all women whores?" thread).
Are you uncomfortable with the form of payment you feel he's expecting?

On another note, if he gets pissed that you grabbed the check or like you said bought online tickets or what have you. Tell him you were trying to suprise him, or if he still gets mad, just look him dead in the eye with a blank look on your face, tilt your head slowly to the left side and say:
"Why so serious?"
I think he sounds to controlling too. Take it from someone who was in a controlling relationship, It starts out, "oh that is so sweet. He's looking out for me." Then it will turn into you spending money when you go out with your friends, then how much you spend on yourself. little by little trying to control you. Like yyg said this is a RED FLAG!
Meh, not necessarily. Some guys just like to pay. Trying to wrest the check away from them makes their manhood feel threatened. If that's the kind of guy he is, I don't really see the problem, especially if it makes him happy to do it. I've dated plenty of guys like this (and plenty of the other kind, too, the kind that get crocodile arms when the check comes and suddenly they can't reach their wallet).

He sounds a bit like me as far as wanting to pay. I always insist on paying on dates and outings unless I forget my wallet, which does happen, lol. I guess its part of that whole chivalrous thing.
The bank account thing may not be legally wrong or anything like that, but its an invasion of privacy and morally wrong more than anything. Imagine you were dating a teacher aid, would it make you uncomfortable that he was looking at your grade in the class, checking your test and quiz scores?
