Life is like a dick. When things get hard, **** it.
oh wow, you have actual proof. Somehow, when an internet/LD relationship doesn't work, it is proof that those relationships never work. The overwhelming amount of completely regular, real life relationships that also don't work out, however, doesn't equally indicate that all real life relationships are doomed from the start.
If your mom had started meeting lots of random people in real life and it didn't work out, you would not be saying "man, real life relationships NEVER work". no, you'd have some other reason for it, like that your mom was on the rebound or he was a jerk or whatever.
beamer:
do what makes you happy.
and please learn the difference between "they're" (short for "they are") and "their" (possessive adjective, as in "it's their house"), and "there" (adverb, as in "look over there")
this is a good point. but, it's not only my mom, it's everyone i know. i don't know a single person that has had a lasting relationship that lead to marriage and happiness. there is a whole other side to a person that you don't get to know just because it's over the internet.
on the other hand, i know people that have LDRs that turned out great.
edit: whoops, hope nobody saw taht...

oh, I should add, being broke because you can't afford to travel all the time will make you unhappy. so when I say do what makes you happy, I don't mean you should just spontaneously go for it, I mean you should consider very carefully if this has a chance of working and therefore making you happy.
geez that's sad. Though, anybody who's happily married today is unlikely to have met on the internet, because they didn't really have the internet and the tons of dating sites back then.
true. people have to meet in real life.
there you go
financial issue is not matter to me =p
