If he is serious about his present girl, then he will do the same to you if he finds someone else that shows interest in him. He knows you are into him already, even though the words haven't been spoken. Actions speak louder than words.

Thanks for the replies, all. And vashi, your suggestion to ask him to let me know when they break up made me laugh. Maybe I'll actually do it...we're both outgoing enough for it to not be horribly awkward or pretentious.

OMG GIRL! i am in the same position as you! except the girl he likes is in our school too but i dont know her. ughh its so frustrating because we flirt like CRAZZY.. and anyone who sees us is always like you guys totally like each other. By the Description you gave, he may be interested in you but not like you....yet. At the same time he hasnt asked you out, so i dont think he likes youin that type of way.
If it was me in that situation i would of asked you at after severl conversation encounters.
