As far as I know, there are no scientific data that support the linking of narcissism and/or vanity to katoptronophilia.
On the other hand, there is a lot of scientific data which supports that if someone doesn't appreciate their own body, that they have serious self esteem or self worth issues and a lack of self love, most likely were abused or belittled as children and frequently were told by their peers and parents that they were ugly.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
