I'm Asian and my kids mother is Italian/German. I hope to God my kids aren't insecure about it. On the contrary, I hope they're proud of their heritage.

If you are going to the US and your husband is going to China, who will take care of your kid? And this education thing isn't such a great excuse to leave your 6 month old. He needs his mom. I understand you are planning for his future but is leaving him helping any? He is going to grow up without his mom around and then what? His dad is leaving too? Who will raise him? Asian mixed with white makes for very beautiful babies. VERY beautiful babies. They get the best of both worlds.

And btw, how old are you? If you're younger, you'll get over any insecurities you have. I had some too (I was adopted by an American couple at birth in Hong Kong and was brought here), but as you age, you get over that. I'm 35 btw, and I'd say once I got in my early 20's it didn't matter.
