I've only been with someone during Valentine's Day once in my entire life. I made it really special though. I was still in high school so I had her name get called during the announcements before the end of school and had a dozen bright red roses waiting for her and a really romantic card. That weekend I took her to a VERY nice italian restaurant called Salvatore's but before we went in I asked her to get my coat which was in the seat behind me. She grabbed it and as she pulled it away she saw that it was covering a life size teddy bear that I had had since I was really little. It was amazing, but since that was the only year I've ever had someone during the day I don't get too down about the other 19 years I haven't. This years just the same as usual.

I'll be chaperoning the High School speech team that I coach at the biggest WestCoast tournament at the best WestCoast college, Berkeley.

Nonetheless, I did receive two roses for Valentine's Day
Both from a "secret admirer," although one secret admirer was hovering around me as I received the rose and then revealed the HUGE secret. The other is still a mystery.

Ten bucks it's that teacher that asked for that damn assignment.

As for my Valentine's Day, it's orchestra seating for two for "Rent" (a matinee show), and of course something tangible. Since my baby's been so stressed out recently I'm thinking a copy of "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" would be appropriate. Then to my place where we'll make dinner together and watch a movie while eating it, followed inevitably by some cuddlying.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but it'll be a quiet night. We've downgraded to "casual dating" for a while instead of "steady". Which means no fooling around. So Valentine's night I'll have to have a little extra vaseline. Sigh.
