I give myself a 7 as well. As for rating others, getting a 10 is very rare in my book so i mostly rate up to 9. 7 would be pretty good looking, 8 is very good looking and 9 is amazing look.

I'd be surprised if most people in this thread don't give themselves a safe 7. High enough to be above average, but low enough for others to suspect they think too highly of themselves. In the end this will have nothing to do with self perception, but mostly to do with social standing.

Actually, I noticed the same thing, only maybe I am more generous, because I think people actually generally see themselves as 7s.

But if I was ranked against guys my age, especially around my areas where everyone surfs and looks after themselves and dresses trendily, that'd drop down to a 7.

Yea I guess I really didn't think about how I compare to other guys....I just kinda thought about how I feel I am...I suppose compared to other guys I'm closer to an 8-8.5. Of course I live in an area where people don't really take care of themselves so I'm lookin pretty good actually.

I can't understand the 1-10 attraction scale. 10 points is too many. Too ambiguous. Why not 3-5 points?

1 - unattractive, would never date
[2 - unattractive, but might receive blowjob if blindfolded and drunk]
3 - might be attractive to others, would consider for a fling
[4 - potentially attractive, but has flaw(s); cockeyed, buck-toothed, butterface, overweight, etc.]
5 - attractive

Attractiveness is a very black and white thing for me. I'm either attracted or unattracted, no in-between. I think I understand what Mishko is pointing out about 7, though; a self-image acceptable to others without being conceited. Conceited... a label I might pick up from a lot of members here for my attitude/self-image.

Anyway, I consider myself attractive. A 5 on my scale, so that must be a 10 on the 10 point scale - I'm a damn good looking guy; I have a full head of long thick hair, nice, straight pearly white teeth, healthy olive complexion, and a symmetrical masculine face. I'm tall and maintain a healthy weight, keep a good shape and everything is in proportion. Sure there are gals who don't think I'm that attractive but I think they have high puritan standards and are high maintenance. But who cares what they think. I don't really care what most people think. If my idea of reality were that skewed, I wouldn't really care because I am happy with myself on the outside and I always will be, even when I mature into an old, wrinkly man.
