Hm well I guess it's weird to me, not "in general". I find it very strange for two people to get engaged after only two months they know each other. And it sometimes seems like you're talking about her as if she were just another accomplishment in your life, like a promotion at work or something. It's just not my way of thinking : )

I know married couples who got engaged after only 2 weeks. Still married decades later. It sounds like this guy knew this gal before they dated. That's different from a total stranger, IMO.
