Bigshot82. I don't think normal next door guys have problems with being lonely provided that they assert themselves. Men who are cronically lonely/single lack realistic perspective. They tend to not take responsability for their own love life, instead gathering facts that will establish that they are being victimized by womens priorities. They don't make up the facts, they simply cherry pick them and then construct sweeping generalizations. Thier ego prevents them from considering that thier abismal love life is of their own making.

It's all survival of the fittest. Usually the very wealthy men get their pickings. The very attractive people find other attractive people. And then the plain Janes and John Doe's of the world find each other. Yes, personality counts towards some too....sometimes you'll see an average looking woman with a Ryan Gosling look-a-like.....but you won't ever see a 2/10 with a 10/10. It's just how the world works.
