Life is too short to be unhappy.
Life is too short to be unhappy.
In three words I can sum up everything I learned about love. It doesn't last.
This is a fantastic thread. Refreshing to see.
Mine: (all breakups, not just my first)
1. Have some class. Yes, you're going to hurt inside, but the other person is a human being going through a bad time. Don't play games, don't contact them - just live your life and let them live theirs.
2. I'm very unselfish, but she needs to be unselfish too. The first time she takes advantage of you, stand your ground. The second time, she's out the door.
3. Looks count for very little. You have to be attracted to the other person, but if you're going long-term, there's no reason to be hung up on flaws - let what she does for you overshadow that.
4. You need to share activities and interests. Opposites attract, but they fight later when the realize they couldn't give a damn about what the other person does.
Love it! Number 4 is spot on mathias. I didn't truly realize all of what you put in those sentences myself until I got married.
...one can be sure of nothing until it has already happened...
