It really depends on the lady. Some can pull off the short hair, some can't. I wasn't too fond of my ex with short hair. Plus long hair is nice because you've got something to pull on

I have grown my hair pretty long once. I hated having to take care of it. It was just above my shoulders. It was nice, but I hated having to brush, and condition it all the time. And I had to take a bit of time in the mornings to make sure it wasn't a poof before school. But being pressed for time in the mornings it usually was.

It's your hair so it's your choice, but I personally don't find it attractive.

I think young pretty girls can pull off short hair like that. Past the age of 30/35 (depending on how old you look), you just look old.

It does have to do with femininity and youth. In general, younger, single women tend to have longer hair than older women. Many women cut their hair after marriage (at least, this is what I gathered from something a teacher said in high school..). Jewish women also cover their hair after marriage.
Long hair is a symbol of youth and availability..

I don't like it when women cut their hair short because it makes them look like a lesbian.
