So don't think that being a virgin at 18 is unusual! And "just because I'm 18 now" is probably one of the worst reasons to start having sex.

Id say the hooker is a totally bad idea. It would be no better, and quite possibly worse, than your favorite hand or that knot-hole in the back fence.

If your lack of physical intimacy doesn't bother you, I wouldn't worry about it. But I suspect (despite your facade) that it DOES bother you. Although you can live without it, or even substitute something else, I think you're missing out on a potentially significant and rewarding part of life.

I encourage you to find a trained professional (probably a licensed counselor, practicing psychologist, therapist, etc) to help you at least think about the situation. Your regular physician, the Employee Assistance Program at work, your religious leaders (Pastor, Priest, Rabbi, etc), or a public health clinic can direct you to those most capable of assisting you.

Don't go to a hooker. Go to an escort, the $500 an hour ones. Actually, have her go to you. They are quite good from what I hear. Ex-models and such. I can't vouch from experience because I haven't used them yet (unfortunately). Some of my "friends" have tried it, some routinely. Mostly in Canada. If you are having trouble with "guts" maybe you should try some potent stimulant. I found out some turn me into what you would call "confident", but I think "stupid" and "irrational" is a better term.

I'm still a virgin at 47. And *not* because I want to be! Sad, isn't it? Nothing really wrong with me, I'm tall, slim, and I think decent-looking. Just sort of socially apprehensive, reticent, and I guess timid. I've spent 30+ years dreaming of sex, and I'm still really preoccupied with it, but at my age I guess I should probably just give up. What a frustrating and unhappy life!
