More than anything else I voted Obama because the idea of Palin being so close to the presidency scared the shit out of me. And that was before I saw just what a crazy freak-o she really is.

I voted for Ron Paul, and I voted in a little vietnamese republican to congress.
Wouldn't you know the idiotic people of New Orleans still tried to vote Jefferson (the guy going to jail for corruption) in? He still almost got 50% of the vote.
I don't hate black people.
Just black people from New Orleans.
Marion Barry was reelected after being busted with crack. He's a corrupt criminal and he still holds some sort of political office or something. I don't mean to sound racist, but I can see how negative stereotypes come about. What kind of person votes lowlife scum into an office?

I like how he's creating a more equitable American society.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.
No, simply a more dependent American society.
And a more split American society.
The federal government is overgrown and inefficient.
There isn't enough focus on state government.
In my opinion, citizens should look more to their local and state government officials for change. Not some schmuck in a house of white hundreds of miles away.
As I mentioned before, I voted for change, which was voting in an asian republican, into a democratic city with a black majority. And already this congressman has been working diligently.
Are you guys going to start a revolution?

I always see you come up in old threads. It's like talking to a ghost.

What we really need is FDR, but that is not a choice for obvious reasons.
The New Deal pulled this country out of harder times than this. He was a genius.

got to appreciate him for his struggle to reach this position..
Rockin through recession
DM, don't you like the way he tells people to get off their asses and make something of themselves?

FDR was a cockmuncher. What really pulled the country out of the great depression was WWII. A lot of economists do not believe the New Deal alone would have pulled us out of the great depression
But that wasn't the bad part of it. The legacy it established for ineffective government programs that don't disappear even when they aren't needed anymore was the worst part. That's obviously a huge problem for government as a whole, but FDR accelerated that
BTW, FDR claimed that every American had THE RIGHT to a house and job, or something along those lines. lol. Every American who works hard deserves a house and a job, but that doesn't make it a right
No, I do not like FDR
I do, and that's something I really like about him. He's obviously a great role model, particularly for black people
No, I don't like other things about him. Like how he wants to socialize the country and make us like other countries. I do not believe he wants the US to be special or something different, but to be like other European countries
But what I dislike more than him are a lot of Democratic supporters of his, including the media
You completely mixed up FDR and California dude.
FDR made a lot of progression with this country considering what he had to work with. He expanded government in order to get more people employed and get funds flowing.
Sure the New Deal alone wouldn't have pulled us out of a depression, but it helped. With a problem as big as the depression, no one source could pull America's head above water.
