thanksgiving was never about being thankful for me. i always enjoyed a big feast with lots of food and hopefully something alcoholic to wash it down with.

honestly i don't remember the last thanksgiving that i spent with my family. they always go to vegas for black friday, and i'm stuck here at home because i always have to work on that friday dammit.

I am going to be spending Thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family for the first time! They are going to have fried turkey this year and I've never had it. I'm also going to spend half of the day with my family. I'm so thankful for my family and friends for all their support and love.

I'm having some friends over, kiddo is going with her dad to his sister's house. My man is going to show off his cheffiness.

My friend Juana and I are going to concoct some kind of cranberry cocktail- we're thinking cranberry martinis with an orange sugar rim on the glass. (Yes, I just said "cock" and "rim" in the same sentence.)

They make Crantinis at the Cactus Clubs here. Make sure you soak the cranberries in the vodka overnight:

    1 1/2 oz vodka
    1/2 oz triple sec
    1/2 oz vermouth
    4 oz cranberry juice
    ice cubes
    cranberries

Shake w/crushed ice, pour into martini glass and add a few cranberries to complete the drink.
