I have 6 siblings, and i am the only one with no dental issues. I attribute it mainly to the fact that my mom had to split us up with different babysitters, and mine wouldn't allow soda or sugary drinks. My dentist said that if all his patients had teeth like mine, he would be broke.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Who, me? I said nothing of the kind, and even if I did, sharp teeth could be useful... for circumcising the uncut. hahah

I would deny this, but it sounds like something I might say.

I know what you mean... the same dentist I've hit (his office is hidden in an arcade and can't be found unless someone draws a map, even though he's well accredited), for over ten years has nagged me about purchasing specially patented flossing systems and such because, "it would be a shame if you developed a dental problem...) aka, be proactive. I keep asking him to show me the cavity or abscess as proof. It pisses him off, I pay my 50 bucks for the cleaning service, and he scratches his head with fury.

His various first year dental assistants rotating in and out of the door have uttered numerous times in surprise..."he has perfect teeth" and were chided by him.

I brush 1-2 times per day, dependent on diet... and that's it.

But like you mentioned.... no sodas, few juices, no sweets... and plenty of water.

Mum grew up with horrible teeth problems... that sort of spells out where diet succeeds.

50 bucks for a cleaning?? Wow. We are dinged 3x that here, probably b/c insurance covers most of it. Hmmm.

Yeah, my dentist gets annoyed because I routinely refuse x-rays. Why bother? They never see anything, and I suppose if a problem developed, my teeth would hurt. I brush 2-3x/day, and floss at bedtime every night, and after lunch on work days. I can't say abstain from sweets entirely.... I need my chocolate during certain times of the month or I may become homicidal.

And here I just read that chocolate can make you depressed. Can you believe it? Researchers are as bad as reporters these days. Anything for a story.

I believe it IS depressing when it leaves you with a fatter ass or acne.

I don't eat them whenever possible... at least where I can ascertain that they are GM. I believe in natural heirloom seeds and not sterilized. That's my biggest beef with GM, aside from the uncertain health effects from consuming them.

    Why do you ask?

I saw it, Indi. No worries...

I finally got the bleeding to stop about 2 am this morning. I took today off from school so I can sleep it off.

So far all I've had is soup and pain medications... not much of a diet... but whatever works.

One of my wisdom teeth grew under the other and inflamed both teeth... that's the reason they were removed. As for the other tooth, well I just have bad teeth.

I stay away from sweets, I don't drink sodas, and as a general rule I tend to eat healthy. My brother has had the same diet as me -- he's had no dental issues, but I do. So I think genetic predisposition plays a part in addition to environmental factors.

Oh I can't scientifically back that up, but all my facial injuries seem to heal noticeably faster.

I took a sucker punch under my left eye in a soccer game from a kid I slide tackled. It split clean to the bone at the base of my eye socket. It closed up completely and was pretty much gone in two days.

The other kid broke his hand after I firmly placed my cleat on it. Jackass. Double red cards :-/

    No, I'm not.

(I also don't eat anything cooked with Canola and finally gave up my age old snack food, "Doritos" because they're Monsanto reliant... same with the soft drinks.)

The other more natural corn chips also taste like shit.

Although I have found some niche sodas on the market and I do own a natural soda maker which I occasionally use to cook down my dehydrated fruits (those close to getting too old) into syrups. ...about 4-5 months.

    Any other questions?

There are no long term benchmarks in testing.

Doritos (plain or powdered) and nearly all soft drinks "sugar sweetened" cause me to erupt skin wise with dermatitis.

There is something about processed high yield corn which sends my body into meltdown and has done such for my entire life. I've also noticed the same eruptions with my son from his earliest months.

I've played with various ingredients, and added/subtracted additives. I have no doubts these days.

Corn mass produced ****s me up... to the point where as a 6 foot plus individual, I dropped down to 49 kilos despite 4-5 large square meals per day.

It's ironically why my teeth are cavity free and my mother's and father's weren't.

My only failing is in whisky. My taste buds prefer Sour Mash and I suffer for it when I partake.

(Though not as bad as un-fermented corn stuffs)
