Hells yeah Kromat! I've kind of always wanted to learn more classy dances, and I think your thread made me nudge a little more in that direction. Now I just need to find an instructor.

I know how to do the old 1, 2, but that gets boring. Everyone can grind, but that disgusts me more than I have fun.

I think you should sit him down and ask him what he want to do about his weght, maybe you can suggest to go work out with him where he feels confortable, i'm sure he wants to workout but not in public, but mostly, keep letting him know that you love him and you want what's best for him and his health....

If he's anything like my ex...that won't work, it will just put them down and you'll end up with more problems. But hey, it's worth a try.

This is something you can't push, if you try to it will cause tension, emotional problems, and self esteem issues. If they aren't willing to put any effort into it, nothing you do or say is going to change that. The only thing you can do is try to get them to go workout with you. If that doesn't work, you're SOL.

Most of the answers have been about exercise, but I bet his diet and/or job has changed recently. Does he work from a desk or drive around a lot? Stay up late & eat after, say, 8pm? My understanding of creeping weight gain is that diet is usually the main culprit, tho regular daily exercise is important. Look there first.

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of fat.

    More cushion for the pushin'!

And he'll keep you warm in the winter!
