I think starbuck that it is a healthy way not to accept everything that your doctor says as gospel.
A few years ago my doctor diagnosed me with Irritable Bowel. I already had other testing and she missed reading in my results that I had a bacteria in my stomach causing me to be very ill. Luckily a specialist that I was seeing at the same time had the exact same results and picked up her mistake.
So doctors are by no means perfect. They are fallible just like the rest of us.
This is saying nothing^. It has nothing to do with 'honesty'. Your topic title = don't take drugs... they are bad for you.
That kind of sweeping statement (which you so viciously rided Vash for doing not too long ago) needs defending. You *do* need to know something. You can't just spout any drivel you want. That's bad argument.
You don't have a comparable background to mine, obviously. Which, like it or not, DOES mean my arguments hold greater weight. You may not NEED to be an expert at anything to hold an opinion, but when you ARE one, it certainly helps. Courts certainly think so. I can back up what I say. You can too, but you'll have to work at it a bit more. Right now, you're still more Q(uantity) than I, dear.

Opinions, as one of my professors once said, are like assholes. Everybody's got one. Facts are what matter. Facts backed by credentials.

i agree with whoever can prescribe me things.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.
As always, Grib, you say it much better than I.

its about the ethics. so maybe you're right i should change the title....its about pharma...again i'll state i don't think all drugs are useless....we agree on the point that its about safety...which involves to what extent a company will go to get a pill approved for profit.
but there is more that i addressed in regard to business ethics that affect peoples mindset and health.......there is less and less social interaction with people therefore easier targets when trying to convince to buy a product especially when isolated...ie. the weaker people in the population which again a point you ignored. some issues can be solved by diet but when vulnerable and faced with a company that sells pills to fix the problem quickly it becomes an ethical problem in my view....doctors faced with sales reps that profile them and use sales techniques...doctors are human at the end of the day.....so its business ethics like ive been saying all along.....you don't need a science degree to debate that issue
EDIT: *****Its amazing how many times i have to repeat myself in this debate. and gosh i almost forgot i did back up the overall point of view that i had with the second unbaised video....seriously guys...facts do speak indeed

....*sigh* Eco, when you are in dire need of medication and suffering so badly you wished you were dead, I really do hope you change your mind, for your own sake.
well since you're so interested in 'my' health maybe you should actually read the thread and watch the videos....you might change your mind and become more concerned with other things
and missleepy these are the sort of silly remarks i commented about in this thread that have no value.....if you have something productive to say about the debate...then go ahead...otherwise your opinion about me personally is irrelevant...use some of that brain power of yours to say something productive.....c'mon i know you 'must' be able.....well deep down i want to believe you can at some stage

It's funny because Kristen used to call me the sloth too, but I daresay she used the term more affectionately than you do. In real life I'm pretty relaxed about things. When I was overseas I found this shop full of all kinds of stuffed animals, including a big stuffed sloth. I sent it home to her.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.
That is adorable. I hope Kristen ends up changing her mind about you.
You aren't a true sloth. Being laid back and slothful are two totally different things. My sloth would have made you look Type A. He once told me he was going to take the day off from job hunting because it was "May Day".
