I have a friend who thinks in these exact terms

His gf is living with him he sees her as a temporary arrangement of convinience, but he won't go out to cheat on her because he's too busy with work and when he's not busy he gets lazy. He keeps on putting off the cheating part until some other time.

She's with him because she thinks that if you want to be in a relationship you have to jump in and rush things to see what it's like to be with another person. Knowing someone for one month = you have to move in. His views don't bother her, she thinks he's work in progress and eventually she will win.

Why not do it based on the fact that it can be considered morally wrong? Because it makes you into a person you are. How can you look at yourself in the mirror and consider yourself a good person if you steal, if you lie, if you hurt people, if you encourage people to cheat. You pay the highest price, in negative self perception and negative perception of others. You can no longer consider yourself good if you do this.

And biggest question on all, if you do this why shouldn't others be doing this to you?
