Prove it.
Prove it.
I need prove nothing. You can't prove non-existence, I can't prove existence.
Doesn't mean I don't believe in the scientific model or method. I do.
Ha. Those are two very contradictory statements. "I believe in logic. You can't prove a negative!" Duh.
Example: Let's say you say you have a new business idea and, if it hasn't already been done before, it's sure to be a success.
"I'm pretty sure that's been done before."
"No, it hasn't. I've looked!"
"Prove it."
So, here's our predicament. I'm asking you to prove that the idea doesn't already exist. In order for you to accomplish this, you'd have to search every business that has ever been created, and verify that none of these businesses "do" your idea.
For me to prove to you the business does already exist, on the other hand, would be quite simple: I would forward you to their website. It's finding one that matches, as opposed to searching a list of infinite particles to prove that there is no match. You cannot iterate over infinity; thus, you cannot prove that the idea doesn't already exist.
Anyway, it's a common misconception that atheists believe there is no god. Atheists simply do not believe there is a god. There's a substantial difference between the two.
