Cancer is un-controlled cell growth. It can vary in speed and area. You can not know how long there is left for someone unless the cancer is all-ready so large that its obvious that death is soon.

I haven't read the book, but LOVE the movie. Nicholson at his absolute best. Obviously "Big Nurse" must be referring to Nurse Ratched?

Though in the book they often refer to her as "Big Nurse".

personally i have never known anyone to get better from cancer completely. once it starts, you can only prolong your life.

i think that you should consider the quality of life chili.. is your mother happy and does she wanna go through with all of these doctors and operations? as far as how long she has to life, i would have to go with shhh on this one. it's can't really be decided from any of us, basically because we dunno how long your mother has had cancer for and to what degree she is effected. she's gonna have to get checked up for that to be answered.
