Scotch is an acquired taste. For a good "training wheels" scotch, I'd recommend MacAllen 12 year old, Sherry finish.

Does anyone here like Black Label? I heard it's good, but I've never tried it..
Many scotches have a black label. Assuming you're talking about Johnnie Walker... it's OK. It's among the lower/cheaper of the labels. White and Red are the only ones that suck more; they're meant to be mixed to cover up the fact that you're essentially drinking Scottish piss.
Double black is only $10 more expensive or so, and it's better. Has a strong, smokey flavor. Anything above that is palatable on its own: green (no longer being manufactured), platinum, gold, swing, etc. Blue is the most expensive, and the most awesome, but not worth the money.
To summarize: don't drink. Buy yourself a good cat instead.
^^^Pretty much.
