Why should men care about their looks?

I know guys who go to beauty salons, spend hours on finding the right clothes and wax their chests and stuff.
I mean, why should a grown man care about what he looks like.

I don't give a damn about what clothes I wear or how my hair looks. I do shower and brush my teeth but that's only for health reasons, nothing to do with appearance.In my option, there is absolutely no pressure on a man to look good. If a guy has a great job and personality and a high status, he could look like a mutant. Society would still accept him. More than a pretty boy who washes floors for living.
Worrying about looks is an issue reserved for woman.

It does not matter if you have a bad taste in clothes, maybe your hairdue is crap, but girls like it if you put effort into it. Effort is the word.

If you look here you have several guys posting pictures, asking for their looks to be rated/how do they look/how can they change their looks/virgins due to looks, I just don't understand why a guy would worry about his looks, that's for girls to worry about.

Yep - I think that a person (male or female) should take care of their looks not because of what other people think, but because it makes them feel good. If taking care of your looks doesn't make you feel good, then by all means feel free to not do it, whether you are male or female.

(I am not talking about personal hygiene, that should be a given.)

i wouldnt date a guy who makes no effort with his appearance and i dont care how much money he has.. if im not physically attracted to him-i wouldnt go out with him. but i dont want a guy who is OTT either-no waxing, nail grooming, straightening hair etc. dont want a metrosexual

Actually if you have money, you can bang 10/10's quite regularly, regardless of how you look. And if you are banging 10/10's, a relationship isn't that important.
