Does this make any sense to you?

    - society has preconceptions
    - I feel no preconceptions. Maybe you meet wrong people or feel wrong about them.
    - could be possible.

    better, isnīt it?
    Sorry, I didn't understand that.

All I can say is that I truly don't see those preconceptions about singledom which you are talking about. I can't think of anyone I know who would care about someone else being single.

The majority of posters who've responded echo my sentiments....so it's not just me and my friends. If I remember correctly, the only agreement you've received is from someone who is single and very bitter.

It really doesnt matter how many people agree or disagree. Nobody agree with unpleasant facts and have you noticed "reputation bar"? Guess what?! (do you honestly believe internet forum discussion is about searching for unprejudiced facts?! :) )

The only important think is how much sense posts make.

Yes exactly. (see basilandthyme ? Nobody agrees. Until they do! :) ) This is an example how people care (as you denied so far). I dont have much experiencw with this but not everybody finds it pleasant. Not everybody is interested in this kind of help and could find it very annoing:

    - Look, Lisa, we have a boy for you! Go and talk to him!
    - Well thank you but I dont find him attractive! (if she is frank. Bust most likely "Thank you, I will talk to him later eventually)
    - geez, you are so picky! This way you will stay alone forever!

Well I dont know how other people react to this situation, but most likely I would reconsider giving a little trashing lesson. Just as a reward for such care:
    - geez, Johny, look how badly I beated you. You really need to do smt with your strength otherwise you will be beated for the rest of your life.

Sounds that fair? I think yes :D

Just kidding. But here we are: what one considers for "help" another person could see very easy as an insult! Nobody is silly and nobody needs such kind of embarasing help. And here we are again: preconceptions! - "they need our help". "Just becasue I ask wierd questions means I spend entire days all alone and dont have social contact etc. ) People uderestimate such people and dont have respect to them! - try to tell your boss: " Look, Frank, I am gonna help you!" I would like to see that.

If this was some kind of contest I would say I am winning but I honestly dont care. The only thing that interests me is how it is working.

Anyway, thanks for your opinions. Finaly I am getting somewhere. Just as I expected.

...and who understands society as a whole so well enough to pretty much be a de facto psychologist and theorist.

Funny....HIA and I had the same reaction...

And you completely misunderstood my post, Brony. It's not like they're giving advice. They're giving an option of who they could go on a date with and if the person doesn't go for it, it doesn't mean they're going to be "forever alone." Once again, you misconstrue what the definition of "forever alone" truly is. And you also misconstrue what the correct definition of "hate" is. The scenario that you described sounds unrealistic too. Most of society could care less, Brony, and that's what you need to take away from my posts.

Of course, however, if we're going for intellectual discussion here, has anyone seen Winnie the Pooh? Perhaps Piglet is the definition of a future "forever alone." lmfao Seriously, Brony, start observing real life instead of what corporate fat cats put on the idiot box.

I would have thought Eeyore? So funny; I was watching a Winnipeg Jets hockey game the other night, and the announcers mentioned that apparently Winnipeg is one of the secret great cities of the world: in addition to a plethora of amazing, unknown facts including that Winnipeg literally has the greatest Slurpees in the world, Winnie the Pooh is evidently named after the city of Winnipeg..

Did you know that My Little Pony now has a cult following? MLP even has a whole segment at an upcoming pop culture expo here.

I was set up with my husband by mutual friends. I'm glad I wasn't offended by their actions - otherwise I wouldn't have such a great life now.

Yes, I'm quite aware of it. People followed Jim Jones too... that doesn't make it worthwhile.

    I agree with this. hahaha

Honestly, it seems to me like society accepts you as an individual or a couple. Think about the world we're living in. There are those who are accepted as part of society even though they don't feel the need to be tied down and prefer not to date. Then you have others who want to get married as soon as humanly possible. Society just accepts it and lets them do whatever makes them happy.

That's not necessarily the case: there are some societies where the unmarried are perceived as outcasts....
