How many times have you heard this? But actually, it is not about you. This is something that we will tell a person when we want to spare their feelings but the reality is that this is actually true. You see, people act in a certain way, make their own decisions and choose to live their life in a certain way because of their own desires and needs and that's not because of US. It is about themselves.

When someone is being mean to you and says nasty, it is because there is something going on inside of them. Sure, there is still the influence of your behavior that has contributed to the break-up but it will still come down to the fact that your ex left because of his or her reactions and feelings surrounding that event and for them, it may have been the right choice.

You should know that when a relationship ends, you can't go back and change things no matter how much you want to, that is why is it best to stop beating yourself up over it. It is time that you forgive yourself for your part in the break up and learn the lessons that you get from it.

It Will Pass

Of course right now, it doesn't seem like it will but sooner or later, the pain will go away. You have to allow yourself to really feel your feelings, you can wallow in them if you want and you should know that these are temporary. There are times when it's good to think back to another time in your life when you felt broke and then realize that it did got better. THIS WILL TOO. Have faith that these feelings will pass, that you will feel better in time and that day will arrive much sooner.

Forgive

It is very normal if you have negative emotions towards your ex but harboring these emotions is only hurting one person and that is you. To be able to save yourself, you have to find it in you to forgive your ex. This doesn't mean that you have to call your ex up and tell him or her that you have forgiven him or her, you just need to forgive your ex in your heart.

Live Your Life One Day at a Time

It is very important that when you're healing your broken heart you have to concentrate on the present moment. You have to stop worrying about the future and focus on where you are today. Don't worry about the things that will happen in the next couple of months. Just start living for today and be present for all the things that you are blessed with today.

Know Your Progress

Yes, life is hard because if it were not, we would all be perfect people living in a perfect world. Give yourself a pat on the back for any and all progress you make since anytime you are able to move in a forward direction that is worth celebrating. It would be great as well if you can keep track of all the progress that you made. And then when you feel like you're going backwards, you might want to think about the progress that you have made.
