What are guys wearing on dates?

I have my first first date in a while coming up and I'm not exactly a fashion expert. What would be a good outfit for a guy to wear? One you would find up to date and attractive, we are going to a reservation requiring restaurant. I'm in decent shape and don't have a belly to hide or anything. Need some ideas.

Usually yeah lol. Not sure if polo shirts are my thing though. I'm almost 30. She's somewhere between 35-40 I think, she won't tell me. She's someone I've talked to on and off for a while, just got out of a relationship and was going to be in her area (Philly) for a day so I asked her out and she said yes. I haven't picked out the place yet but it will be decent ($30-50+). I just haven't been somewhere that upscale in a while, nor had a date with someone her age before so not exactly sure what to go with. Since it's out of town I can't really scope out to see what others are wearing. My ex and I usually stuck to the 10-15 dollar places. Where we live there isn't anywhere upscale to go.

I like that look. I think I've seen guys around here sporting it occasionally, the short sleeve version with the collar unbuttoned. Not sure if I want a jacket or not, doesn't that kind of seem like you're trying too hard? I'm probably going to be doing some walking around outside in August so it might get a little hot.

I'm not sure about the short jeans though. Long jeans would be better IMO (I couldn't find a similar image with long trousers), since it's a dinner (and not lunch) date. It mostly depends on the weather, on the rest of the clientele, and especially on your everyday style: you don't want to wear something you don't feel comfortable in.
