Both. Although looks are completely a matter of personal preference, so to say a woman is evaluating you on your looks doesn't mean she's looking for you to look like a male model. You need to be physically attracted to your partner, whatever that looks like. Personality plays into things just as equally.

I agree, that's why guys are so lucky, they can look pretty much anyway they feel comfortable with. And those guys that got dumped by their GF who think by working out and getting buff will win her back, well they are just wasting their time.
There are so many guys out there that hit the gym like a mad man thinking they should be swarmed by girls, and it never happens.
