How do men deal with sexual desires alone?

I’ve heard many stories about how women can go by without sex for years (and I totally know why being a girl) but men feel the need for sex more than women. Is it really true, that men constantly need sex or can men also go by without dating for a year or two just like women, not having sex and if yes, how do they deal with their sexual desires? For example, if someone is in a rehab for like 9 months?

No generalization is true for all people in any one group, not even the sexual generalizations about men. People differ and so do circumstances. A friend of mine once went six months without having sex with his wife becasue, in all honesty, he hated her. Yes, during that time he apparently choked the chicken a few times, but other times he said he just went without.

I do get the feeling that you are young, so I'll state for the record that sex is a mainly physical need for men, while mainly an emotional "addition" for women (please note that I said "mainly"). Let's not forget that there are porn, sex toys, and perfectly good hands/fingers that both men and women use for sexual gratification when not sexually active.

if men didn't go without sex nor masterbated....they would be walking around with constant boners at every female that walked their way. They'd probably even start fantasizing about Barbara Walters. I think your girlfriend was talking about high hormone levels that cause different physical conditions. I am always horny, but I'm not emotional like many women are who are on their period. I do agree that men can experience aggression or depression when a sexual outlet isn't present. I have experienced both. As far as rape though... Actually animals don't reason, which is what separates us from them. Sure we have instincts and hard wired needs/wants, but we can choose when to follow them and when not to. Animals just follow what they feel because reason isn't in their makeup.

Love is also more than just a reproductive myth. After all people have sex without loving each other. In those cases it is all about pleasure and not at all about reproduction. Love is a result of humankind's ability to reason. Don't feel like a robot. If you were merely a robot, you wouldn't feel like a robot. Just something to think about.
