My grandmother passed away 2 days ago, we were close. The funeral is wednesday. Children and grandchildren have been writing texts and poems, but nobody wants to read it in the church because they all know it's going to be very emotional and a lot of people will be watching.
So my dad has asked a friend of the family (not even a very close friend) to read what we have prepared.
I find it very unpersonal and embarrasing.
I offered to take the word but I wasn't allowed to. My dad says it's too emotional and I will cry so nobody understands. To be honest I think he finds it a disgrace if one of us cries in public
SO WHAT? If I let somebody else do it I think I'll regret this for the rest of my life
