I'm not saying people shouldn't have it because I didn't have it, I'm saying that some people don't have it for a reason. If you don't contribute in a good way to society, why should you have health care? If you are a crack addict that is constantly having trips to the ER and can't have a job, why should MY tax money pay for your health care.

Not only that but everyone having health care would do two things, it would make being a health care professional not as desirable so there would be less doctors, and more people would have coverage so more people would need a doctor.

With this bill being put into place doctors will not be able to charge as much fees, and they will not make as much. Some doctors have over $300,000 in student loan debt. Medical school is still going to be expensive. When doctors can't charge the fees they want they could potentially move or decide on a different career path. I say move because doctors come here to work from all over the world because it's lucrative to be a doctor here. So we wont have as many doctors, and we will have many more patients.

I'm not a bitch because I don't think everyone is entitled to health care. I'm also not greedy. I simply think everyone should work for what they have, and if someone from my upbringing can make it in society, almost anyone can.

There is a LOT of abuse of the health care system as it is now. Personally, I am leaning towards favoring limited health care for people who contribute heavily to their own conditions, and for people who lived beyond the average life expectancy. It's brutal, I realize, but healthcare is a commodity.

I understand you're a nurse, I myself have a degree in health care administration. I feel like all these people have these views on how health care should be when they don't know the facts surrounding health care. They really have no idea of the impact, they just think it sounds nice.

All I can say is if Canada can do it so can we. We don't need to dole out the best healthcare to every last person. But every last person should have at least the basics covered. You want the best heart surgeon in the field? You pay for it. Otherwise you get what you get.

It truly is reprehensible that not everyone has at least rudimentary coverage in this country. Maybe it's time to take stock of priorities. Maybe we don't need to pick fights with everyone in the world we don't like. Maybe we don't need to throw innocent men and women in jail for smoking pot. Maybe we need to focus on healthcare and the failure that is the public school system before we start bullying other nations into falling in line with our ideals.

Because wether you like it or not that crack head is a part of society, a negative one. You don't turn sick people away. Much simpler and easier if you ask me. If you treat these crack heads like people maybe one day you''ll see less of them. You make the hospital sound like some castle for the exclusive. I always wondered what happens to a bum who breaks his leg by accident. Does he just live with a broken leg or does he die in the middle of the street because society won't accept him?

I have my views. I kind of feel like our society enables people to be unproductive... people have children they can't afford, and then they get a check for it... enabler. If I had it my way a drug dealer could get the death penalty. Think of how many lives are destroyed by drugs, and the people that deal them. One dealer can destroy hundreds of lives. I'm not talking pot, I'm talking meth and crack. I really like my views, I'm not going to deviate from them, but that doesn't make me cruel or mean.

I can't imagine how someone couldn't be against free health care for everyone ,even those who can't afford it. We pay taxes ... SO WHAT. I prefer to pay a doctor for some junkie from the street instead of letting stupid politicians spend it on their expensive cars and restaurants and trips.

In light of the recession there are many cases that are out of the norm, but for the most part, people that are productive members of society usually have access to insurance. And when people don't have access, it's not always the government's fault. For example, take walmart. It is the second largest employer behind the federal government and they have HORRIBLE practices. After two years of employment their employees make an average of $2 less that people in their position at other employers. On TOP of that, most employers make employees pay 20% of health care premiums, Walmart, who already pays below average, makes their employees pay around 30% of their premiums... this is all based on research I've done in 2009. This employer could greatly help a large portion of Americans if they simply made health care more affordable for them. Even when eligible, many of these employes cannot afford it. Also, there are a ton of companies that will hire 40 part time employees to do the work of 20 full time employees to get out of having to pay benefits, we need to adjust the way employers and companies do business.

No offense, but I'm wondering how much you know about how making healthcare for everyone will effect us. For one, people know around the world that we actually have the BEST doctors. People fly in from around the world to see our specialists... what would give these doctors incentive to stay if they had to adjust their rates and are no longer able to be as lucrative... which will probably happen with this reform? How are we going to get in to see a doctor when there WILL inevitably be less doctors and MORE patients. Also, we already have a nursing shortage, a horrible one, this will make it worse.

I'm don't support free health care for all. I support making employers treat their employees honorably. There are tons of programs for people that are in temporary need.

What makes you certain that with universal healthcare doctors will charge less and therefore the proffesion will become less attractive? Here in Australia we have universal healthcare which goes much further in coverage than the one Obama is trying to put through and the doctors are charging as they would charge normally, they are paid by whatever scheme is in place. There are no shortages of doctors (unless you are talking about rural areas which is more of a global issue).

What about the people who do not have your upbringing? People who were born in poverty and don't have your level of education and don't have the same footing as you to make it in society? What about the people affected by disasters or who lost everything in the global financial crisis? Surely not everyone has exactly the same opportunities as you?
