Can't do dates

I'm in a situation where my social circles don't include any girls.

From my previous experiences I went into the gym because I like it and naturally I made some friends there, but my group of friends was made only of married people or people who don't have lots of friends.

I have some other friends from some other circles and I found out that they are also not popular.
In my family no one knows young girls.

Dates are unusual in Portugal and from online dating no one wants to meet personally.

Don't force to get a date. Just live your life naturally, and seek out opportunities to meet other people - not necessarily just girls, and not only your age group - they could be a link to someone else. Go join some other activity groups that you enjoy doing, not specifically to get a date, but to simply enjoy yourself and meet new persons. You don't sound too old to be desperate to get a date... anyway there is no such thing as "too old", but if you're in your 20s (as I think you are), then you have literally all the time in the world, so no rush.

You can try online dating too, you could get lucky, generally people go there to meet in person too at some point, so maybe you were just unlucky so far.

I hear you man, I'm in a similar damn position right now and I am using online dating as the outlet, not so frowned upon here in Canada

quick question: what do you mean that "dates are unusual" in Portugal? Do you guys still use a more traditionally Catholic mating system or what?

You can always participate to activities either of your community or to nearby places that interests you. it could be a tournament, volunteer events, events for a cause or even sports events that will make you meet new people. it doesnt matter if most of them dont come from the same age because you never know if the right one is just around the corner and the only way of meeting her is because of that one simple unpopular friend.
