    Woiuld this meal impress you?

2nd date. She's coming to my place to eat. This is what I"m planning to cook. Would it impress you?

    Goats cheese on puff pastry
White fish, prawns and smoked salmon cooked in a cream sauce topped with mashed potato
Coq au vin - free range from my own flock
Blackberry crumble - blackberries are in season at the moment
    Cheese

I really want to make it a nice evening. This woman is sensitive, kind and is having a shit time with her ex. I want to make her feel valued, that someone is there for her.

What should impress me - the name of all those "fancy" dishes? Personally, I wouldn't eat anything out of that *yuuuck* BUT everyone is different, so she might enjoy this meal. Do you have any idea of what kind of food she's into? Or if she has food allergies? I suppose you don't want her to come over and not eat anything, or eat out of politeness.
If you're not sure that she'd like this meal, you should also cook something more simple, to have it as a backup

Impressive is relative though.. I see your french so a lot of the goat and stuff would be much more common to you then the average north-american. And since your are from France, I shall assume there is a nice bottle of wine included as well..

As long as you don't burn i'm sure she will enjoy.. and its not always so much the meal itself, but the act of cooking it that impresses ppl.. although obviously a nice meal helps haha

I don't know what it's like in Canada, but in California, we love our goat cheese!

Boisdevie - those dishes all sound wonderful, but it seems like too much, and no vegetables. I would do the goat cheese on puff pastry, the fish and potatoes (assuming she eats fish), some vegetable (asparagus?) and the blackberry crumble.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Sounds good, but kind of a heavy meal with all the cheese and cream. What if she wants to boink you afterward but is too full, huh?

Yeah, that's true. I love veges, so I would notice them missing.

A nice woman deserves to be looked after and treasured. It's that simple.

    By her daddy, yeah.

    There's an ex involved here?

Be careful of that friend zone.
