Sorry, I've skipped a few pages without reading to offer my opinion.
I reckon girls persue in a subtle way, and that it's up to guys to do the main chasing. Doesn't make sense? Well from my perspective I would flirt, spend more time grooming(makeup, fixing hair in a better way than just shoving it in a hair clip, wearing perfume rather than just deodriant or however it's spelt, wearing nicer clothes, etc), and finding excuses to talk to the person I like, rather than doing things like directly asking them out, directly asking for their number, or calling them, etc.
And I know why. If I were to persue a guy that aggressively, it would make me feel too easy. They'd assume I'd want things quicker and that I'm more eager, and to be honest I wouldn't be more eager or wanting to take things fast. And it hurts less if the guy loses interest, than me making so much effort, decorating myself like a peacock, and then finding out he prefers another girl. I'm sure a lot of guys go through that, but I've never met a guy who's claimed they've lost girls cos they were too fat, too ugly, too stupid, not good enough. Instead they say they were too nice, and they need to be a bad guy cos girls prefer them, etc(which I think is a stupid excuse-but that's another topic).
Maybe it's being old fashioned. Maybe it's being lazy, or maybe it's being too passive. But I like it when I feel I don't have to act like a hoe to get a guy's attention. Not that persuing a guy instantly makes you a hoe, but some of the things I've seen other girls resort to makes me disgusted. For example, in highschool a girl wanted to let an Italian exchange student she fancied get totally drunk. But she wouldn't let me ask him if he was ok, since he had been vomiting from drinking too much, so that she could try to pull him.
