Okay, I've been reading up and pondering upon the posts and responses on the forum and I've come to a question.. or curiosity of what people on this forum think about the generalization they have towards the opposite sex...

Of course.. most questions/polls/answers in the world is biased, i don't see why this wouldn't be.

I apologize if this is a stupid post, biased post, unnecessary post, or just downright sexist and insulting.

I would like to know what opposite sexes generalize about each other. For example: All guys just want sex. or Girls nowadays dont know what they want. just stuff like that, I initially wanted to post this in the Ask a Male or Ask a Female section, but i wanted to opinions from both sexes.

I couldn't bring myself to choose option 3 OR 4. There are women who fit each, as well as men. What about the 'There are good women that I know are out there, but can't seem to find' option? I think it all comes down to who you are as an individual and what you want in a relationship. I dislike generalizations, and that is what the pole does (with the options given). You could have just asked the question "What do men/women feel is the prevailing attitude of opposite sex these days, and why?"

Ok I just read your thread 'Unreasonable or just a downright hypocrite', so I understand why you posted this now. Not all women can be put into negative categories, in fact some are near perfect. What you have to ask yourself is "why am I attracting women that I don't want" and "Am I looking in the right places/ putting myself in the right environments?". You'll find a woman who is worth your time eventually.

All really negative options. I don't think either about men. Those sorts of stereotypes are usually just perpetuated by negative people that have never had a decent relationship. I tend to think those people attract the wrong type of people to themselves, anyways.

It would help if your options varied slightly! I don't think you can generalise though, yes stereotypes exist but they are just usually an old-fashioned conception. There are men who do just want to sleep around just as there are women who want to do exactly the same, however there are also men who want something more meaningful and substantial just like their women counterparts. It's all individual. You cannot judge men and women as a race, you cannot confine them to their sex.

To the OP - you might want to do a couple of searches around the forum, most of what you are asking has already been discussed to death and answered many times over.

To answer your main question, the general consensus is gender generalizations are shockingly flawed and out of touch with reality. They are more of a reflection of an immature mind with a very limited experience.

Plenty of drama in the retirement homes. Plenty of herpes too. One of my friends has a mom in a retirement home. This woman used to be so incredibly prim, and now she's porking her best friend's widower and possibly a couple others.
