If he's dating another friend of yours, you shouldn't really believe him. Even if he does like you, it wouldn't end up well. It's normal. Love is a much different feeling. Just my summarized thoughts on this.

I'm a guy. Personally I wouldn't be dating anyone I don't have feelings for and by that I mean love. However, I know for a fact most guys would just date anything that moves so they can get some sex, it's sad and repulsive you ask me, but it's how it works... maybe if you make him see you are interested he'll stop dating her and date you?
