Neither Cortisone and Benadryl has helped. I've never had a rash that hurts.
I'm no medico, but your sore throat and skin thing sounds like strep to me. Its easily treated with penicillin, but can turn nasty if you don't get it. You don't need ER, just a clinic that can do a throat swab.

Do you have white, cottage cheese looking build up on the back of your throat?

Here's what annoyed me today. Somebody wrote some mean-spirited anonymous comments about me on DirtyPhoneBook.com. I think its one of 3 people though so I know how to get back at them.

No, but my tonsils are really swelled up.
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
    blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

I've almost done it but everytime the ENT doctor scares me out of it. I could never miss so much work, all that recovery time scares the bejesus out of me.

Tonsillitis I would assume, you are showing all the signs of it.

Go back and count how much sick time you have taken because of them, then see if missing the time to have them removed would really be that bad.

You don't have to have this to have strep, Rider. Even the red dots aren't always present. Tonsillitis just means 'inflamed tonsils', but there must be an infection or illness of some kind in order for the inflammation to happen.

I wasn't asking about it in refrence to strep. My sister had similar symptoms, but had that crap in the back of her throat. It turned out to be mono.

It was strange because it came on as a severe sore throat initially without the sleeping component. I ended up taking her to the emergency room at 1 in the morning because she could barely breath and my parents were out of town so I couldn't drop her off there.

I know. But I had mono as a student but w/o the cheesy tonsils. Different ppl have different reactions, but what concerns me is the rash as well. That is what is making me guess strep. But, the only way to know for sure is to get a swab done. Like I said, Im not a medico and even then, the only definitive test is what I said.

BTW, most docs will not remove the tonsils today. Its a last resort after multiple infections. Unless one wants to pay out-of-pocket.

Didn't know it could be present without the infection visible like that. Either way, its nasty and apparently very painful. I rarely ever get sick, much less severely ill, I just beat myself up physically which isn't much of a consolation prize ~_~

A ladder tipped over and hit me on the back of my head, hard.

Fortunately I was of course, wearing my hard hat, and considering how hard the blow was with it on, could've taken on a serious injury were I not wearing it.

    And I'm sunburned.

Good, you can be my room mate when we have to move to skid row and live in a box. My daughter will be there, too.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
