Sometimes it can be a couple of days. When one does not live with their partner that's completely normal. A lot is dependent on the age of partners, length of relationship and living arrangements.

If / when I'm in a committed relationship, I would talk to my bf almost every day. There may be some instances when we don't talk to each other for a copule of days.

It really depends on the nature of the relationship and the nature of the two people in the relationship.
