gribble - are there any lesions on your throat? (red, yellow, white) It sounds like your throat should be cultured for strep. The fever and drooling would also be consistent with strep. Can you see a physician in the morning? if that is what it is, you will need antibiotics; untreated strep infections can cause rheumatic fever.

In the meantime, take advil for pain and fever, and use chloraseptic throat spray, and drink hot tea with honey (not sugar). I hope you feel better!

The two soldiers confront each other in a trench, where they wait for dark. They trade insults and even find some common ground. Confounding the situation is Cera, a wounded Bosniak soldier who wakes from unconsciousness. A land mine had been buried beneath him by the Bosnian Serbs; should he make any move, it would be fatal."
I watched that film when it first came out before anyone heard about it, I thought it was great. I liked the subtle references to dysfunctional nature of UN in that movie.

Another film of around the same time was Black cat / White cat. Watch it if you haven't seen it yet.

i didn't think the references to the UN were at all subtle, but I am glad someone else saw that movie. I really liked it.

Can you give a brief synopsis of black cat/white cat?

It's a crazy comedy about Serbian gypsies. It's hard to describe it because events get a bit chaotic at times. There's a plot summary here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Cat_White_Cat but you really have to watch it to appreciate it. It's a very original film.

What about this new Avatar movie? I never heard of it until I read the news today.

I haven't heard of it, indi.

I watched Bonnie and Clyde (1967) today. It's a film maker's favorite, and also my favorite. It changed the way American movies were made with its unprecedented depiction of violence and sex, and is listed number 5 in the top ganster film genre by the American Film Institue. It's a masterpiece.

I absolutely adore Warren Beatty in this film. What a beautiful man.

This is going to be a blockbuster. I'm going to see it as soon as it opens, at least twice. The effects are said to be spectacular. A linguist was hired to create an entire language for this movie.

I can't ****ing wait.

I saw "Invictus" today. It was great.... for sleeping.

The highlights were waking up to the scenes of the rugby matches... did you know those guys are built like tanks, all thick and muscular and sweaty, and they wear short shorts? (dies) And Matt Damon sure has grown into his man-body.

Another highlight was Morgan Freeman reading the famous William Ernest Henley poem, which was MUCH better than the movie.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Did you go? I took kiddo to see the 3D version and it was really good.

The previews seemed like it was geared toward a younger crowd. Did you like it Indi, or was it just visual eye candy?

Two of my favorites ^^^^^

Don't forget the HANGOVER. Best movie of all time hands down for comedy.

I have heard Avatar is absolutely amazing.

I liked it. I'd recommend it as cinema-worthy. But I think all day, so I go to movies to be entertained, not think more. The story was good and flowed well. Those who read a lot of SF/fantasy will recognize the ideas, but he did a good job putting them together in a new way.

Avatar was ok. I didn't like it as much as I liked District 9. I picked up District 9 on bluray today even though I saw it at the movies.
