Your questions lead me to believe you're not really ready for it yet. At least, not ready to truly please and satisfy your partner.

You should be familiar with pleasing your partner and bringing her to climax from non-penetrative things like fondling, oral sex, "dry humping", etc before trying intercourse. Likewise, she should be familiar with pleasuring you. (Do a web search on "outercourse" - the term "heavy petting" seems to be out of date - to learn more about this.)

To answer one of your questions, kissing is almost never improper - before, during, or (especially) after the coupling. Nothing to be uncomfortable about dude. I was 20 when I lost my virginity. I can't count how many times I was put in social situations where that got brought up and I proudly said I was a virgin. The girl friends I had actually commended me for being a virgin. Rather than being uncomfortable about your lack of partners you should be proud of where you stand. Being a virgin doesn't make you any less of a man, not at all.
