I think the best thing you could do is to keep on working but try your very best to not let it get to you. I know that's hard, but this tip will make it easier, it did for me when I was in similar situations of desperately not wanting to be somewhere but had to: Just cut lose and act or say what you want to, and if you get fired for it, then that's that. If someone says something condescending to you, be dismissive of them even if it is your boss. Then the ball is in their court and they have to decide how they want to respond

Just chill out as much as you can and without actually telling them to "fucck off," tell them to fucck off by an apathy to workplace rules that stress you out, an apathy to their opinions that you don't like, etc

Stick it out. Sorry, DM, but Nish doesn't want to get fired. Eventually she will want to go back to work & that's not a good reference. Sometimes, you just gotta suck stuff up short-term for longterm gain.

    Hang in there, Nish.

Well, I don't know what labour laws are like where you live, but generally you can't be fired for not coming in to work due to illness. That's considered bias, especially when you're pregnant. If they're threatening you with that, I wouldn't worry about it, because it's likely just them trying to freak you out. You could take them to court and sue their ass for wrongful dismissal.

In the meantime, I think you just have to suck it up for the short time you have left until maternity leave. Lots of us have had to stick it out in jobs we despise until we could find a better solution. It's probably not what you wanted to hear. You'll have time while on your leave to consider your options, and maybe start looking for a position someplace else when the end of your leave starts approaching.

I know better than to listen out for what I want to hear. I like that you guys tell me the truth, especially if it hurts.

I am not gonna quit, and I'm sticking it out for the next few weeks. I know I can do it, I just keep letting them get the best of me emotionally, which I would like to stop.

I keep thinking of all the free money I get for sitting in my bed at home enjoying life with my kids for 3 months.

yeah and then you gotta ease up on the procreation. At this rate, you're gonna have a football team by the time you get to 30, haha.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.

LOL! Not me. I refuse to have anymore kids any time now.

I'm talkin' another 9-10 years, if ever again.

Shit I already started stacking up on condoms from my doctor.

Fuuuccckkkk that shit. I think if this was my first pregnancy I would've been a hell of a lot more cautious about getting pregnant again. This child is kicking my ass!

I requested 3 months because that is considered short term disability at my job. Any longer than that makes it long term, and I believe the pay stops. I get to decide how long I want to be out though.

Wow, you have to go on disability when you have a child? That seems unfair. Isn't there any special consideration for a new parent?

In Canada, you get a year paid maternity leave. Mom, Dad, or a combo of the two.

Psh! Not here. We are like the most bootleg Home Depot in existence.

I'm surprised I even get paid for this. I'm just getting back the money they take off my check for short term disability. It's all screwed up and confusing to me so I just left it at that. I really am nervous about how much I'm gonna be paid while I'm gone though.
