Now's the chance for that once in a lifetime romantic date where you sit under the starry night and a shooting star goes by.

    North America only?

Damn! And I had a perfect setup too.

Its pouring rain in Vancouver unfortunately. But meteor showers are cool. I once saw a really large meteorite shoot across the sky about 10 years ago. Scary and faster than anything I've ever seen, big fireball went right over the road we were driving on.

I saw a few 'sprinkles' here and there. This was the second time in my life where I saw such a thing.

Oops, missed that one. But this summer when I was living in New Mexico a million miles from an electric light, I went to a "Pleides Party". As our friends were giving us a little presentation about the constellations, giant meteors kept streaking across the entire sky. We slept outside (no tents) and although the moon was incredibly bright, every time I'd peek my head out of my sleeping bag I'd see one. It was incredible.

actually if you come to hawaii, more so oahu and take a look off of black point. you're bound to see something nearly every time that you go there.

Heavenly objects or alcohol induced visions?

The astronomy department had a Leonids "party" last night on the roof with some telescopes looking at Jupiter and stuff. I stood there with my neck craned for about 10 minutes, listening to people exclaim, "I saw one!" "No, that's a plane." I knew no one there and even if I had seen one or two, there's no way it could've come close to seeing them in the mountains. So I left.

I sat and watched a meteor shower from my grandparents balcony about 7 years ago. They had a perfect view, and it went on for a few hours. Amazing. Little orange balls of fire with green tails.

The strangest part of things like this, is that they are tiny in cosmic terms. A LARGE shooting star is like golf ball size.
