I don't know what to say. I've slaved my ass off in $10 an hour jobs, treated like shit by clients and didn't make a tip....and it was something that required me to be specially educated in. I've met waitresses bringing home over $60k in CASH a year. Not paying taxes like the rest of us suckers. So you'll have to excuse me if I refuse to pay the 20% they think they should get. I always tip, but 15% is my max, and that's only for exceptional service. I met a 19 year old last week who waitresses at a local restaurant instead of being in college, and she's driving a 2008 Cadillac. **** that.

Most waiters (that don't work in fancy high end resturants) make a measly $8/hr. We do rely on tips. And I worked damn hard to make you assholes happy. I'm a waitress, yes I have to serve you but I'm a person not a freggin' slave! If you snap your fingers at me I will ignore you. (This happens).

And do you know that when you get a $50 bill and you tip say 15% that's $7.50. Do you know that we have to tip out over 5% of our sales? Bet you didn't now did you? That means I walk with %10 if I'm lucky and everyone tipped me 15% which assholes like yourself are far to common to make walking with more than 8%.

Don't worry your assholeness and cheap ass whiny attitude make our lives hell just like tipping makes yours.

So while you might not like it that's how it's done over here so then don't come. When I go to whatever country I try my best to know if tipping is customary, or if burping is a compliment or rude. And I don't complain. It's a different place with different customs.

Waitresses do not have a particularly hard job nor are the pay and conditions terrible by US standards. They're actually some of the highest paid workers in the country.

This is not about you this is about the US keeping the shitty custom of tipping away from my country !

Around here servers make less than $4 an hour. Tipped labor is exempt from normal minimum wage. So yes I tip and I don't bitch about it.

Yeah, I'll tip a waiters and waitresses according to their performance, but mostly because I don't want someone spitting in my food the next time I go there.

Seriously. If I knew a waiter was making $8/hour I wouldn't tip him at all. That's more than minimum wage.
